For the past four years, it's been the honor of a lifetime to represent the residents and business of Ward 4 as your voice on Gahanna City Council. While I am proud of the work we've accomplished together, I know there's more to do.
Born and raised in Gahanna, this is my neighborhood too. I am a proud product of Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools, from High Point through GLHS. Gahanna was a wonderful place to grown up, and I am thrilled my wife and I have made it our home, too, knowing this is where we wanted to raise our own family. In addition to being the proud husband of Aileen, a teacher at GLHS, I am the proud father of Otto, born May 2025.
A graduate of Otterbein University, I moved to New York to pursue theatre, interning with NBCUniversal, and I was blessed to meet my wonderful wife, Aileen. After touring the country together with an educational children's theatre company, we returned to Ohio, ultimately moving back home to Gahanna because we knew this was where we wanted to lay down roots for our own family. I remain active in the community I grew up in, volunteering, and I formerly served on the board of the Gahanna Area Arts Council and the Community Improvement Corporation. For the past two years, I have served as the City Council Liaison to the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission.
I graduated from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, and I have since built my legal career as an advocate focused on constituent services, working for the City of Columbus, the Ohio General Assembly, the U.S. House of Representatives, and Franklin County. I have built a life of service, and I look forward to continue serving Gahanna as your elected City Council Member.
I'm running because I love my hometown. I loved growing up here, and I continue to be thrilled by the opportunity to serve the community that has given my parents, my four siblings, and my own growing family so much.
When I first ran for Council, I did so on three core beliefs. Those beliefs still hold true. I'm running for reelection because we need to:
1. Safeguard our city's finances
I believe we need to be thoughtful about expending taxpayer dollars entrusted to the City while at the same time maintaining a level of service that our residents have come to expect.
2. Improve our city's infrastructure
For years, due to a lack of funds, critical infrastructure updates were placed on hold. With the passage of Issue 12, the City is well-positioned to expand our street paving program, replace curbs, install sidewalks, and upgrade playground equipment in our parks.
I believe we need to expand sustainable infrastructure and building investments to meet the 21st century.
3. Invest in our families' future
Gahanna is at a crossroads. As the population continues to grow throughout the region, we need responsible, sustainable, and intentional growth so that we are equipped for the coming decade while preserving what makes Gahanna a terrific place to live, work, and play.
I believe in prioritizing public safety through world-class, community oriented policing.
I also believe we need to continue to invest in our residents and in the hard and soft infrastructure that makes Gahanna a great place to call home.
We need active, responsive, and accountable leadership on City Council that listens to the voices of the community. As your elected Gahanna City Councilmember, I work to listen and amplify your voice on Council.
We need people who will show up in the community for their friends and neighbors, and not just in election years. I love this community, and I have your back. Whether its a neighborhood block party or hosting a regular constituent hour, I am here to serve you.
While I know there's more to do, I am proud of what we've accomplished these past four years. To name just a few, we:
○ Started the city’s first 100% renewable green energy aggregation program resulting in $250,000 in savings for residents in just the first few months;
○ Created policies to reverse the negative trends in teen tobacco usage;
○ Began remodeling and construction on a 21st Century municipal complex to house a state-of-the-art police station, senior center, and city hall…without raising taxes;
○ Advocated for protections for all our residents, regardless of LGBTQ+ identity;
○ Fought for children’s art in public spaces;
○ Passed comprehensive fair housing legislation;
○ Expanded the street and sidewalk maintenance programs while reducing the financial burden to homeowners.
